Human Mart

Anti-Slavery Australia

Slavery still exists, right here in Australia. People brought here from other countries under false pretences and Australians already living here are being drawn into terrible situations. Forced to work for long hours as cheap labour, domestic servants and in sexual exploitation. These are human beings being bought and sold callously and thoughtlessly, like tins of beans.

To drive the awareness and donations needed to bring about change, we opened a supermarket ‘selling human beings’. Stocking over 70 products, each representing a victim of modern slavery. An interactive storytelling experience, a unique exhibition and a teaching resource all rolled into one.
